Q: You really seem to care about my student! Aren’t you a chain??
A: We aren’t a chain at all, in fact there is currently only one Wired Minds Tutoring in the world!  Our goal is to not only be more personal than a chain, but also more professional!  We strive to not just say we’re caring, but really show it! We LOVE going to our students’ games or meets or even birthday parties! If you ever do not feel super cared for, or that the level of service you or your student receives is not at an exceedingly high level of professionalism, please let us know!  You deserve the best, and we aim to give it to you!

Q: Is this the place across from Riverside High that I saw on TV and everyone is talking about?
A: Maybe??? Yes, we are across from Riverside High School, and yes we’ve been asked to be on TV many times, but we can’t for sure say we’re the one everyone is talking about! I mean we have been told from many parents that they tell all their friends or people at work about us . . . sooooo sure! That’s us!! :)

Q: What does Wired Minds do?
A: The long and the short of the answer to that is: Wired Minds exists to reignite a passion for learning in the minds of local students!  We take students to the next level in their education. We have worked hard to create an exciting learning environment where we engage, empower and equip students of caring parents to meet and exceed their potential!

Q: Who does Wired Minds help?

A:That’s a fairly easy question to answer – The short answer is: Everyone! Wired Minds helps students of all levels reach and exceed their potential.  We have quite a few students in the gifted and talented program, as well as a few in special needs classes.  All the rest are “normal” happy kids who just want to improve!

Q: How do I get started working with you?
A: Pick up the phone, call 864-244-2420 and talk with one of our happy shiny receptionists and schedule a new student interview so that we can access how best to help you. If you’re feeling particularly happy yourself and want to talk with Barry our owner, just ask for him! He’ll gladly take your call if he’s available! During this time you also get to know us, our center and our expectations, and we get to know you, your motivation, and areas of concern. While here, we will have some forms for you to complete should you choose to use our services. If you’re sold on us already and don’t need to learn any more simply show up 10 or so minutes early before your appointment and fill out some of our forms.

Q: What is “the new student interview?”
A: Because we strive to maintain a certain atmosphere at Wired Minds with specific kinds of students, and we want you to be confident in your decision of whether or not to utilize our services, we offer the new student interviews as a chance to get to know each other. They are not mandatory by any stretch, but are recommended.

Q: Is there a cost for the new student interview?
A: Absolutely not! We consider this just part of doing what we do best. We use the information we glean to from this consultation to help us place new students with the tutor that best suits their particular needs. Why should we charge you when the learning is all happening on our end?!

Q: Do you offer help with _____?
A: The short answer to that question is almost assuredly ”YES!”.  However, there’s a slim chance that you may want to learn underwater basket weaving . . . so . . . the subjects on our subject tutoring page are regular offerings by Wired Minds. That said, we do have some pretty fantastic instructors and we are capable of tutoring in other areas.  So, if you are looking for tutoring in any subject in school or out, we can likely help! But obviously we can’t tutor everything (think underwater basket weaving). Just call (864-244-2420) to find out whether we can help you. (We have tried to add everything that has been requested in the past on our site, but ther

Q: How can I get in touch with my tutor?
A: Call the front office (864-244-2420). We would be happy to connect you to your tutor, and many times we are able to resolve your questions on the spot. Or we can ask them to give you a call and their number. However, we ask that all scheduling goes through the office so we can keep an accurate record of sessions and tutor availability. Thanks!

Q: What if I am not satisfied with my current tutor?
A: Honestly, this is not a frequent question, however, it’s not unheard of.  If you are not completely satisfied, and we mean COMPLETELY, you are welcome to go somewhere else, or switch to one of our other instructors.  We would be happy to introduce you to a new tutor at any time (FYI there will be NO hurt feelings.  We promise! Please call us at 864-244-2420 and let us know your concerns. We will address them today!

A: First, we want to thank you for considering this. It is a privilege for us to be able to do the work we do with young hearts and minds. We believe it is worth the investment and welcome your support. Please contact the Center Director through email outlining your intentions. We will be in touch with you as soon as possible!

A: It is Wired Minds’ policy to only support / sponsor teams, clubs or organizations in which current students of our are involved, and from time to time, we have been able to sponsor different teams, clubs, and organizations. Our desire is to be a part of the community! Shoot us an email ([email protected]) with the details of the organization and of what you expect from us and we would be happy to at least consider the opportunity. Thanks for thinking of us!

Q: Finances are tight right now. Does Wired Minds offer scholarships?
A: Short answer: YES! However, because we are in the first stages of actually developing our scholarship program, we are only able to offer a very limited number of scholarships to students and only for a limited duration. We require that you fill out our scholarship application before we can consider your request. In the future, we hope to be able to be much more accomodating of these requests (i.e., as we obtaining grant money and donors). At the moment, virtually all scholarships are offered out of our own pockets.

Q: Why are some of the web pages not working?
A: We have big plans for this website. In fact, we would like to make it a hub for all sorts of useful and interesting resources–including some that are on the distant horizon. Occassionally, we will be enabling and disabling features and pages on this website that are not intended for immediate release. Thank you for bearing with us as we transition to the best tutoring organization!

Q: Can I work for Wired Minds?
A: We are consistently impressed with how many people want to work for us (even for free)! On the one hand, we are flattered and excited by this interest–which shows us that we are doing a great job. On the other hand, we could not begin to consider hiring everyone who applies to work here. However, if you are confident that you would like to work at Wired Minds, you can find more information here!
