Middle School Programs

We have been asked by a number of parents about our summer programs - We are currently working on a curriculum for these camps.  As of now, it looks like they will come in groups of two weeks.

One soon after school lets out to review what may have been missed, and one shortly before school starts up again to prepare for the coming year!  The dates are not yet set, so if you have any special requests, let us know and we'll try to cater to your desires!

As it stands today - March 24th, we are working the following which are subject to change as we plan out the weeks:

Middle School Prep - a camp run by our own Philip Pruitt - Designed to take some of the unknown and fear out of entering Middle School.

Wordy Problems & Rates and Ratios - 5th - 7th grade  - We all remember encountering at least one word problem that we swore had a typo because there was no WAY they really expected us to figure out what time Train A left the station, or how tall the flagpole next to Brent is if it's shadow is 75' long and Brent is 5'3"!  This camp is designed to help students develop strategies and skills to tackle seemingly impossible word problems and ratios.  It has carefully been designed to help students determine rates of change (which is very important for algebra work later) and to develop strategies for tackling tough problems.

Write Right -  Open to anyone in Middle School - Lead by Philip Pruitt - Spend the week with Philip learning what Middle School teachers look for in written works, and learn how to better organize your thoughts onto paper.

Algebra 1 Prep - Relatively self explanatory . . . but it is open to anyone who wants to be ready for Algebra 1

Geometry Prep - Open to anyone.
